The Last Stretch of Hurricane Season 2020

Woohoo! Hurricane season 2020 is starting to near its end and the cool autumn breeze has begun to settle in. After 23 total storms so far this hurricane season, there is much to celebrate as we inch towards the holidays. As exciting as it is to leave this all behind, it’s important to remain cautious as to what potential storm may begin brewing near you.

Generally, the Atlantic hurricane season reaches its peak in September, so just getting out of that we should be seeing decreased activity till the end of the hurricane season, November 30th. Though October and November are usually quiet, 2020 never fails to surprise us. There is currently tropical weather activity by the Caribbean and the Gulf which the National Hurricane Center estimates that there is a 60% chance of a development from this area.

Unless your home is prone to flooding there is no need to stress about it. Tropical storms that form this late in the season tend to be relatively mild and if they do come, only cause some minor flooding, heavier rain, and higher winds.
